Your fundraising ideas
There are no hard and fast rules. Think of something you like doing, or would like to do, either on your own or as a member of a team. It could be a race of some kind, a skittles match, a stall at a village fete, a "bring and buy sale”, a whist drive, a coffee morning or an additional landing fee for a month at your nearest airfield. If you are an FSD scholar talk to a local club or charity about our scheme and your personal benefits of learning to fly would be a natural! What events take place where you live? Is there an opportunity to raise money for FSD at these? And what sport do you play - are there opportunities there? Literally anything goes!
Just try to ensure that whatever you dream up is achievable, not too time consuming and that it will create sufficient interest to attract sponsorship and if possible some publicity for FSD!
Finding Sponsors
The event itself is only half the work! The other half is to round up support and encourage people to sponsor you.
Click here to download printable sponsorship forms that you can use.
Think about all the potential sponsors that you know and that you could approach – your family, friends, and colleagues at work. How about fellow sportsmen along with people you regularly meet at your pub or club? Local firms could also be a good bet for sponsorships as could your local flying club among many other sympathetic groups.
Try for amounts per unit e.g. 50p per mile or per hour. That way, even if you don't achieve your ultimate objective, you will still be raising the sponsored amounts.
Make sure your potential sponsors know that FSD will be the beneficiary. Should they require more information about us ask them to visit this website.
